scjp tutorial

hi friends
this my first post to this forum.i'm new to this forum.i found the forum so useful that force me to ask some doubts in my mind about scjp certification.now i am doing mca.i'm in 5th sem and going to start a project on java.but i'm bit confused that which area of java is good for me to do a project ?is it core java or adv.java?which part of java help me in clearing scjp exam?please reply me soon.

As far as scjp is concerned, it's related to core java. java enterprise edition is related to scwcd and scbcd.

if you want to clear the exam: get a good book, write code to reinforce concepts from the book and do lots of mock exams

Well, if you are concentrating on certification, then SCJP is tightly coupled with core java.
Please check ScjpFaq for more information concerning the exam.

As far as project is concerned, it depends upon your interest. You can make fairly good desktop application using swing
and core java. Then if you want to move towards web tier then you should look at JSP and servlets. Then J2ME is also
a fiend to check for the project. At the end it depends upon your interest.

you can ask in Java Intermediate Forum or Java Beginner.
