ipad -where is the pipe character?

Does anyone know where to find the pipe character on the iPad? I tried holding down various keys to see other options, but no luck. Am I missing it? Is there a "key map" somewhere with more characters?

It's on the 3rd keyboard layout.

From the numeric keyboard, tap the key marked #+=.

P.S. Interesting that you asked about that on your first day. The pipe character doesn't come up much when writing text.

I bet Jeanne was trying to execute "dir | more"

Thanks Bear. As you can see one of my passwords as a pipe in it. That doesn't give much away

My other problem is that I don't know a lot my passwords. I rely on spatial/tactile memory and know how to type them. This issue came up when I got a BlackBerry too. I had to look at a real keyboard to find out what my passwords were!

Also, am I in the wrong forum? Should this be in the Mac OS forum? It's a legitimate question.
