SCEA & Data Mining

Now that I will be taking the SCJP exam this summer and have my sights set on SCJD and SCEA, I was wondering
if anyone has professional experience or otherwise with Java and Data Mining/Predictive Analytics applications.
I am specifically wondering how an SCEA certification could possibly enhance my employment prospects in the area
of Data Mining, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics or if anyone has experience in this area. My end goal is to work
to help an organization with huge amounts of data to draw better conclusions.

Thank you.

You have an interesting area of specialty but I think that SCEA is not for you. It's targeting on a usage of technologies and application design techniques. It has more applied approach and you have more science-analysis-research related.
From employment perspective overall it's a good achievement, but it in not related to the data mining

Dashboards, but a SCEA for dashboard development is Overkill, unless you want to integrate dashboard objects into other web applications --- mashups if you will. If you find a firm that has that need or desire, they may love you.

Everything depends on circumstances; you must sail according to the wind.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
