The coffee would be 300ml, and I'm thinking of upgrading it from black to white soon after purchase.

Are you going to buy the corrent model (iPhone 3GS) or are you going to wait for the next model which is supposed to come out in a few weeks / months?

I ordered an iPhone last year, at the end of July. It took an incredible amount of time (4 months!!!) before I finally got it, and then it took another 2 or 3 months before the stupid telephone company had changed my subscription. So it took until December 2009 before I could really use it.

I guess it's too late to suggest waiting until June or possibly to buy a new iPhone, since Apple is expected to announce a new model then?

Fortunately, Ulf's coffee choices will remain timeless.

I'm going to buy iPhone 3GS.
The new one will be very costly in beginning, I think.

Far from it. Soon after you buy it, it gets cold and stale. The only thing you can do is buy a new one, which they always promise is hot and fresh. But again, you buy and they're making another pot. It never ends!

Got my iPhone. Unlocked.

iPhone experts, is it true that "jail breaking" makes utilization of iPhone to it's fullest capacity?

Note: I am not at all considering that at the moment.

You're late! I got my coffee two days ago ... but then had to get another one yesterday ... and still another one today ... I'm beginning to suspect that it'll be the same tomorrow. Is it the same with the iPhone, that you need to get some kind of subscription in order to keep using it?

They got you covered!

The primary reason to jailbreak a phone is to install 3rd party apps. Of course, Apple has been known to disable hacked phones, so there's some risk.
If that kind of "freedom" is on your list of features, you probably should have gone with an Android phone. No Apple playing Big Brother and the bonus of the Android API being Java (which I presume you know).

I like the iPhone, but next time I'm getting an Android phone. Someone I work with has an HTC Desire and it's an incredibly nice phone, running Android ofcourse.

You can program for Android in Java instead of the iPhone's obscure Objective-C, and you don't have to dance according to Apple's tyranny to make your app available.

Actually I heard that iPhone has most smooth touch than any other phones available.

That's the reason I went for iPhone over coffee at the first place, you don't need to buy it everyday.

Now!?!?! There will be a much cooler one in a very short while. Units have been seen in CA and Viet Nam. Why pay full price today for a nearly obsolete model?

Isn't it always be the case?

That is generally true. But in specific, the new one is expected to be released within a few weeks of now. Early June.

Hmmm. In June, it'll be launched in US. It'll take 2-3 months more for other countries & it'll be costly also, I think.

I have used Motorola Droid and HTC Hero at work and I think they are nice handsets too (though, I do not find their looks as appealing as iPhone, which IMO has finesse and better finishing). Have you considered Nexus One?

What? you care about the cost of an iPhone? Here in the US, they cost over $2000. Sure, Apple claims that they sell for $200, but you also *must* buy a cell phone contract that is at least $100 per month for two years.

I think they are cool but insanely over priced, but Apple sells zillions of them, so I must be wrong.

It looks promising.
Any idea if it's available in India?

True.
I purchased it without contract so I am free to use any cheaper plan.

Well, its clearly dead now. WalMart is selling the latest iPhone 3GS for $97 US.

Obviously a blow out of the ancient model before they release the replacement.

I don't know how things are where you are, but where I am demanding to know what people paid for things, especially without asking politely, is considered extremely rude.

I think we need to circle back to the pivotal issue of why Ulf probably wasn't going to buy a newspaper on May 18th. If the drivers are cost and/or subscription based, then we might be able to leverage that information with respect to the iPhone issue.
