dont be upset, atleast now you know which sections you need to study more about.

Give another shot at it and study for a week or two, and then try some mocks before taking the real exam.

Hi Will,

I hope your cold is getting better. Before getting your life back, can you tell us how you prepared for the exam. What kind of materials are you using, and how are you using them ? I'm sure we'll find ways to make you pass this exam.

I have read the Charles Lyons book twice, the HFSJ book once and done 7 mock exams on Enthuware (passed 4 failed 3), what I didn't do was any coding which is probably my problem

That may be one problem yes. It is easier to assimilate and understand by making samples. Apart from that, the Enthuware simulator should show you where your weaknesses are. Try to focus on them first, by referring to your books, and by making samples. Take your time when you do the mocks, and when you're finished, read and review all the explanations carefully. This requires some effort, but this will pay at the end.

Also please don't use any IDE's or ant scripts for development and deployment. Use only a text editor and an application server like Tomcat and do all the samples in HFS book. Wish you all the best next time and take this as a challenge!

I'm sure that you wouldn't have used a Head First Servlets & JSP. Use it for the next time and everyone would be congratulating you rather than consoling.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
