Hi

I am really confused right now..please help me out.
I am planning to take SCWCD 5 and I thought I can give the exam this week.
I studied HF KS&BB 2 times, SCWCD Exam study guide David Bridgewater twice, gave some mock tests from links provided in the javaranch.
Also gave HF final mock exam from both 1st Edition & 2nd Ed. also worked out mock exams from David bridgewater book CD.

All of them are based on SCWCD 1.4 except HF 2nd EDition final exam (if i am not wrong).
In all of the mock exams I passed with decent score .

However, when i did HF(2nd Ed) final mock exam which is actually based on SCWCD 5 , i didnt pass. i got only 60%.
when i reviewed that exam ,what i observed is that if the exam mentioned the number of correct answers to select, i would have passed with around 71%.but even thats not a good score .

So finally I guess i am not ready.Any suggestions please?
Is SCWCD 5 tougher than SCWCD 1.4 because it is performance based?? and hence the mock exams based on 1.4 version do not give the exact picture of the real exam.

Also I want to know.. do the WHizlabs & Enthuware mock exams reflect the real exam (I mean ..are they also performance -based questions)

Please help me..i want to give the exam as soon as possible ..may be within a week.
Thanks...

Hi Padma,

The Enthuware mock exams are really close to the real exam and actually a must-have-and-do to pass the exam.
For your information: I passed all the Enthuware mock exams and failed the David Bridgewater mock exam.... before I passed the real exam quite comfortably

The way of asking questions in Enthuware is really the same way as in the real exam.

Regards and good luck

you are welcome, and if you still decide to take the exam next week have a look at my notes (SCWCD linkss, rancher notes). You can use them to revise and cram.

Hi,
I am also in a similar condition like Padma and really upset , i also have to give the exam in a week.

I have read HF twice and SCWCD Exam study kit once.

solved various mocks..

first....slove Sun[1].310-080
then...other tests....310-080....
then some in wizlab 310-080

i was facing this old version problems so

came over to Enthuware 1.4 Version- 2 xams passed
then Niko's all 4 xams scoring around 90-95%
then javaranch xam scoring 100%
then Marcus all topic wise xams scored and 1 summary xam scoring 90% around
recenty gave
SAI mock exam scoring 85%
Enthuware 1.4 very tough section 85 %

then when i gave final mock exam of HF I secured only 60% and found many questions ambiguous

I am planning to attempt all enthuware exams 1.4 before the real one.

Is the level of enthuware 1.4 xams near level of real exam SCWCD 5?
the difference with padma i have here is may be she used 1.5 enthuware product and i am using 1.4 .

thanks.

Hi Parth,

To me you look in good condition for the exam. I haven't done the enthuware 1.4 mocks but don't forget that SCWCD1.4 and SCWCD5 are covering the same specs. The questions in SCWCD5 are a bit more difficult though, but compared to SCJP I found it easier.

Try writing down the important interfaces and classes (with important methods) everyday until you memorize them. You should know, for instance that the getAttribute() is on the JspContext and not the PageContext.....(you can use the UML-drawings in my notes)

Do the same for the Tag flows (have a look at the drawings in my notes). Write down all the important web.xml elements (even the simple ones like <error-page>), make sure you know them by heart.

Apart from memorizing try some small code examples.

Good luck in the last day preparations
