I just took my very first practice exam with Master Exam. I found this exam very hard compared with Enthuware JQ+.
I only scored 29%. The last two Enthuware tests I have taken have been passing, 63% and 65%. Also I failed Exam
Lab as well with only 30 and 34%. I realize that ME and EL are harder than the real exam, but 29% is very discouraging.
Did anyone find Master Exam difficult and go on to pass SCJP?

Master Exam is no doubt harder than the real exam, but 29% is IMO a low score. You should at least pass the Master Exam to get a decent score in the real exam. Most of the people fail in ExamLab, but generally from what I've seen, the score of people on ExamLab is around 50-55% after which they pass the exam. If you are struggling with the concepts, you should really read a book or re-read the topics with which you are having problems. Also after that, try to give different mock exams, as giving the same mock exam more than once automatically increases your score because you remember the answers...

Didn't like the Master Exam software at all, I got as far as completing one of the tests before giving up on it(50%). The time allowed was incosistent and I don't think you can review the wrong answers(I only did closed book).
Keep working on ExamLab, try and write down what the compiler is doing to get at the correct answer and learn that.

Well I took another two practice exams today. One was Enthuware JQ+ #5 and I scored 67%. The other was Exam Lab Practice Test #2 and scored 37%. I wonder if I can still pass SCJP? According to Enthuware I am doing OK, but I do not like how low the EL scores are.
My Test History:
EL Diagnostic Exam: 30%
EL Practice #1: 34%
EL Practice #2: 37%
Master Exam #3: 29%
Enthuware JQ+ #1: 38%
Enthuware JQ+ #2: 55%
Enthuware JQ+ #3: 65%
Enthuware JQ+ #4: 63%
Enthuware JQ+ #5: 67%
My scores are all increasing, so at least the tests seem to be helping. I hope it is enough for SCJP however.

Maybe I will read K&B cover to cover for the third time and come back to the practice tests. It seems my scores are not high enough to pass safely.

Do you just ponder over mock exams, or do you read the explanations and study the errors you've made ? I hope you're not passing mocks one after another without studying.

I thought I was reviewing my mistakes but apparently I need to pay more attention to the sections I am scoring low on
because my scores are not going up enough. Thank you for the advice

I find having a review pattern for each question useful. For example
1. Are all imports correct ?
2. Are all variables scoped correctly ?
3. Non-static variable from static context ?
4. Null pointers ?
5. ...
And so on.
