Doubt in Humphrey Sheil Use case & solution

Hi,
I studied the sample use case and solution in Humphrey Sheil's book. The use case mentioned that the exhange will be exposed as a web service. But, in the solution there is no mention of web service. It looked to me that this solution will not have even have JSPs and only web service points. I am totally confused.
