java.sql.SQLException: Limit on number of statements exceeded

I'm connecting to an AS400 database and seem to be getting this
, I have double checked my code and every statement I create for this connection is closed as soon as I'm done using it.
I recreate the connection each time, instead of reusing the statement but I'm very confident I close it in every location that I create it?
Is there any other reasons why I could be getting this exception?

You probably are forgetting to properly close a statement, connection, or result set.
