There's an unlimited number of XML formats, and an unlimited number of ways in which those XML formats might be represented in CSV format. Can you give us an example of what both formats look like in your case?

You might take a look at the servingxml toolkit. It has examples of transforming back and forth between XML and various "flat" formats such as CSV.

How is your understanding of XML? Are you comfortable with using the standard Java library XML tools?
