Macintosh apples are good (too sour if picked before fully ripe though).

Occasionally, I like a delicious apple even though I abhor the pretentious name.

Who buys those green ones though? Yuck.

The most common green apple, the granny smith, is mostly used in an apple pie. Its quite tart, and sturdy enough to survive the cooking process.

If you try to make an apple pie with Macintosh applies, you'll wind up with apple sauce pie.

mmm, apple pie. Love it. Also love peach pie and pumpkin pie. Great! Now I'm hungry.

I'm taking a stand here: Granny Smith Green Apples are the best apples. They are crunchy, sour, and I'm getting hungry for them just talking about it.

Mmmm, apple pie. But I have to admit that my favorite fruit pie is actually cherry.

I love tart Granny Smith's, but can't abide Red Delicious (whoever named that one obviously never ate one).

Honeycrisp, when you can get them, are also a favorite.

I like simple ol' red delicious.

Green apples... Not so much, unless they're in apple pie.

Red Delicious should be renamed Red Mealies, or maybe Red With Horrendous Texture.

(I knew this topic would end up in controversy!)

Although I will concede that Red Delicious make for a really nice-looking centerpiece.

They only live up to their name if you individually select each apple from somewhere with good produce. Get the nice crisp ones, then eat them within a couple of days. If you buy them by the bag -- or from somewhere with poor selection -- they're disgusting.

This is why I don't like them. They taste good, but getting one without the mushyness is tough.

I don't think that they have released many great albums recently. Abby Road was probably their last great album.
