Getting "Password can not be less than 6 characters" error message even i enter more than 6 chars

I am using validator framework. in that i am validating the password field as required and minimum length of 6 characters. When i enter without any values its showing correct error message as "Password is required". But when i enter more than 6 characters i am still getting "Password can not be less than 6 characters".I cannot submit the form as this error message occurs for any length of characters i enter.What may be the problem? Please help.
