Redirect mouse click from a tab

Hi. I have a couple of tabs and I want to make it in a way that whenever the first tab is clicked... nothing would happen and the panels wouldn't change. I do not want to enable/disable it. What should I do ? Should I intercept the mouse events whenever the first tab is clicked ? How should I go about doing it.
