[Spring Security] SHA-512 , UserDetailService, User - authentication not working

Initially I was using SHA-1 + base64 but now I am switched to SHA-512 and NO base64. SHA-512 returns byte[], so my question is Spring's User class constructor is designed to accept ONLY string as password and that is why I can not make user authentication working. The password in DB is stored as blob. DB is MySQL.
