Facebook cannot seem to get email to go from their servers to my email account. I get lots of other email just fine. But because of this, they have locked me out.
The value of using facebook is not worth the effort to try and fix this.

I would not call it a colossal waste of time. I do question whether the upsides outweigh the downsides.
I think it is a great place for people that like smalltalk. And I think I am somehow defective in the smalltalk arena. On the other hand, when I want to get a good conspiracy going, facebook seems a remarkably effective place to gather conspirators.
And I feel that as long as the folks that are keen on smalltalk have a place to get their smalltalk fix, I'll can have a richer relationship with them without smalltalk.
I have mostly given up on FB too, but for different reasons. They are constantly 'updating' their privacy policy, by which I mean they are stripping all privacy away.
I feel like they said "Tell us stuff, and we won't tell anyone else". then the come back with "We're telling everyone what you told us in private. If for some reason you want us to stop, let us know."
And they do this over, and over, and over. They are then SHOCKED when there is an uproar, and try to spin it as "FB is created on sharing, so we thought we'd make it easy for everyone to share everything!!!"
Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I think that for me, its 99% a colossal waste of time. More than that, their policies are evil.
I am sure that there are many smart entrepreneur working on something better right now. But its like Windows, every one uses it, so when people say "gee, what should I use, the answer is Windows" The reality is that there are many OS that are better than Windows. And I expect that even when the next great thing comes out, lots of people will use Facebook.
then how are you supposed to know the world is a vampire?

I feel like FB is incomplete(i don't know why?) and difficult to use. I use orkut and find it easy to use(But i don't like the new FB copied theme). And one annoying thing is when i click friends menu in FB i see "friends request", "Find People You Email","Suggestions","Search for People" but not my friends!! When i click the sub group it lists friends with their updates, just like wall posts. I just want to see who are in my friends list just like as i can when i open others account and click on their friends button( may be i don't know how to list my friends in FB). And i like too see updates and scraps separate as in orkut.
How many of you use orkut? which one do you prefer and why?
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
