I am facing problem while including jsp using jsp:standard action

<jsp:include page="a.jsp" flush="true"/>

If I do the above it includes a.jsp,but if i do any of the below it doesnt

<jsp:include page="a.jsp" flush="true">
<jsp:param name="colspan" value="8"/>

<jsp:include page="a.jsp" flush="true">

Can I know what is wrong?Please help.

<jsp:include page="a.jsp" flush="true">

will fail because there is no parameter. This format can only be used with a parameter.

<jsp:include page="a.jsp" flush="true">
<jsp:param name="colspan" value="8"/>

should work. I tested it out on my computer and it works.
