How to populate the root/nodes of hierarchyviewer component in ADF without using datacontrols

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to put in a <dvt::hierarchyview> in my jsp page and moreover I don't want to bind it to any datacontrollers(The LOVs generated directly from the DBs). Is it possible to bind it to a method in a class which would be returning a collection object (list n all)??? How the linking can be done between the root and child nodes in that case?
Please suggest. It's an urgent requirement friends, expecting immediate response.

Thanks in advance.....

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
