JSF provides a richer set of UI components than Struts. However, Struts is still the most popular and the current de facto standard MVC framework. Struts will hold this title for at least 2-5 years, and the Struts-JSF plugin enables Struts developers to utilize the many cool components in JSF. However, using this plugin requires some knowledge of JSF and understanding how the plugin works, which is what Chapter 22 of my book is all about.
