Hi guys,

Kindly help me in solving following problem.

I want to develop an Web application

Front end- Flex
Back end -Servlet

My web application is simple scientific application which involves some processing parts like calculations at runtime.I want this part to be on server ,through servlet.
So that when flex open an connection with servlet,it would returns data back to client at run rime.

As i am from java background i m new to flex.Problem is, I m unable to use flex balzeds server,it is not working fine.
Moreover it would be grateful if you can provide me an example in which flex at front end communicate with servlet with backend. If there is any other alternative then blazeds then let me know, provided it is an open source.

Thanking you all

yes i have seen examples ,but i have struck with installation process. How would i integrate blazeds with my flex builder.

Have you looked at the example applications that come with BlazeDS?

BlazeDS is the open source solution. You don't have to use it - you could just call your own Servlets direct. But you would end up re-writing much of what is in BlazeDS if you did that.

are you not able to connect to server from flex client? or not getting response?

If you are not able to connect to server from flex, just cross check if you have proper context root mentioned during mxmlc and while making call.

and if you want to communicate to server by using only Servlet. You dont need BlazeDS at all. BlazeDS is adobe's project that provides services like Remoting as RPC, Messaging(pub-sub model) and Cross-domain services.
