hi every one. so i've been using the scope plugin for struts 2 for sometime now and i'm worried that my application would permgen or hang on me when it's run for a long time. i've been thinking of using ajax and jquery to counter the permgen by having an ajax form control so that i would only need to send a post once for processing. but before i do that I want to ask if anyone know of any other practices for creating a wizard with struts 2 and what are their advantage and disadvantages(please include the ajax implementation)?

If you are getting OutOfMemoryErrors indicating PermGen space, that is related to the number of deployments one does, not server activity (see here).

How big is your form that you'd be worried about memory usage?!?!

the reason is i'm using the scope plugin and might be using it in the wrong way since sometimes the application just hangs on me after a few post of data. that's why i'm asking for some best practice and thinking of using ajax to end part of my reliance with the scope plugin

Running out of memory wouldn't cause the application to "hang", it would cause it to throw an out of memory exception.
