Tomcat provides an application which lets you manage other applications (tomcat manager) which is deployed at the ROOT i.e. if you open http://localhost:8080/ there you'll get the default application that comes with tomcat. I don't think you should worry about this.
Instead, focus on deploy (like with files stay where) or a trick a question: "If you project has a name of, Car. Wich name the container would give to it when it raises the app?". This for sure will be there.
