What does domain objects in Java mean?

Hello everybody here,

I have no idea what a domain object. I think they are instantiated from the classes which contain actual business logic. So my understanding is they are the objects which access DAO's. Correct if I am wrong and please explain what a domain object is and does?

Have a look at Domain model (Wikipedia).

Try asking Google: "what is a domain object" or "what is a service object".
