Hi all,
I am a greenhand for EJB and planning to learn 310-091. I am planning to learn the basics first and then learn the new features in JEE6.
I used Sun Certified Web Component Developer Study Companion: SCWCD Java EE 5 to learn scwcd.
I used SCJP Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 Exam 310-065 to learn scjp6.
Both of the above books are very good for the exam and future reference.
Could somebody recommend a similar book for scbcd?
I know there are some recomended books in http://faq.javaranch.com/java/ScbcdLinks, but I don't think they are specific for the exam. Any ideas?
Thank you very much!
Ziyang

Hi Ziyang:
You can refer here
EJB3 in Action is good as a starting point, and "Enterprise Java Beans" from oReilly is also good!
+ MZ notes + Enthuware mocks you should be good for exam. That is what most of the people do unless you have solid experience in EJB3 which may not be the case with everyone!

Unfortunately there is no Head First EJB3 book (which specifically prepares you for the exam) available in the market yet!!!

Good luck with preparations!!!

Hallo everyone,

I saw this book on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SCBCD-Certified-CX-310-091-Certification-Preparation/dp/B0041RRHBI/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1286454995&sr=1-3

Is that better than the options mentioned in

The reason that i am asking is that the Enterprise Java beans looks like a reference book but not a book that you can be used to prepare for an exam, or am i wrong?

Thanks in advance and appreciate you help.

Hi Ahmed,
Is that better than the options mentioned in

That book is not about EJB3.0 but about the previous version EJB2.1

Frits

Hi Frits,

Thanks for replying, but please prove me wrong if I am. This book is supposed to be for exam CX-310-091 which is for Java EE5 (EJB3.0), its quite a recent book as well published 3 sept 2010.

Regards,
Ahmed

I think Frits thought you were referring to the Head First book. You're right about the amazon link, it's for SCBCD5. I don't know how good/bad it is... Only 186 pages... mmmhh...

Hi everyone,

I found a review about this book, it seems that it is not what it claims (see below), I better stick with what has been suggested earlier.

Link to review
Complete waste of money, September 11, 2010
By T. Trindade

This review is from: SCBCD: Sun Certified Business Component Developer CX-310-091 Exam Certification Exam Preparation Course in a Book for Passing the SCBCD Exam - The How ... on Your First Try Certification Study Guide (Kindle Edition)
Wastes 80 pages on general java concepts, nothing to do with the certification.
Covers none of the objectives! Just list them and thats it.
Only comes with 23 mock questions...
No tips, no nothing...

Do your self a favor and buy something else.

Thanks.

Kind regards,
Ahmed
