modification problem

hi,
in my application im using XML...im creating XML file using jsp and servlets...im doing dml operations on the xml ..it is performing well if i give my xml file as 'login.xml'....but the problem is if im changing my xml file name as 'pack.xml'...it is working fine for operations like Register,View,Delete...but not for 'Modify'.....can any one provide me the solution....i used EL for my modify.jsp

i mentioned what i m facing in my post.....im not getting values if i enter 'packname' in form....it is not showing already existing values in form...it is showing what the registration.jsp form is having like that....

im getting error as

What does Modify do? You state that this functionality appears in your app; how are we to know what your app does?

Also, what does your question have to do with IDEs or Version Control?
