I have my HTC Desire and it is everything I hoped it would be, but I want more!
I have the standard stuff plus AntiVirus, a couple of games, dropbox, an app killer and a nice setup. Can anyone suggest other things to try?

I need to shout out for Meridian media player. Can't find a Skype client. Also like the Astrology file system explorer. Pretty disappointed with the free apps, they are mostly ports of Facebook-style apps. Looking for some paid apps worth owning.

You have to get SkyMap and also Barcode Scanner; both are wonderful apps. For guilty pleasure, try fartdroid, tricorder, and one of the various light sabers.

It generates playlists based on a song or via 5 sliders for Tempo, Beat, Joy, etc. you adjust.

I just manually updated to Froyo. I'm not leaping out of my chair with excitement. But there are a few features I'm glad to finally see.

I don't think I need to update to Android 2.2 yet. Skype client definitely doesn't show for me in the market, could be a region thing?

The froyo keyboard is mean to be better, but if you had one installed that may be one change you didn't notice.
Facebook, astro, dropbox I already had.
Add Twitter and may look at More Icons or Handcent if the time comes. Still can't find Skype. (ah @see skype.com/m - says it is not available for the Desire yet...)
I splurged $2 and bought The Settlers game that I played way back when.

One of my friends swears by Tasker:
How to Turn Your Android Phone into a Fully-Automated Superphone
I haven't had time to dig into it yet.
