I am in need of a reporting capability in my web applications. Most of the ranchers here suggested JasperReport.
I was able to convince my boss to buy a book on Jasperreport and from the same publisher also. I am reading the book
JasperReport 3.5 for Java Developers right now.
As per my understanding, cookbooks are better complement to tutorial books. Can I say, your book complements the book that I have right now?
Sean Clark ---> I love this place!!!
Me ------> I definitely love this place!!!
I'll reply on behalf of the author (and hope I'm right). Yes it's a great idea to have a Cookbook alongside a core tutorial book, usually I use teh core tutorial book to figure out the "why" and the Cookbook to help me do the "how" a lot faster.
Yes, Martijn is right. Cookbooks mostly tell how to solve specific problems, address real issues and demonstrate step-by-step solutions. You can check out the free sample chapter of my JasperReports cookbook and compare with your copy of JasperReport 3.5 for Java Developers to understand the difference.
