Manager web application and ANT

Hello,
context: Tomcat 5.5

Going on the link http://localhost:8888/manager/html,
in the Application Table a see the row:
/manager Tomcat Manager Application true 0 Start Stop Reload Undeploy

But trying to click on the link /manager I see the following message:

type Status report

message /manager/

description The requested resource (/manager/) is not available.

Is that ok?
I read somewhere that Tomcat 5 includes a set of custom task definitions for the Ant build tool that allow you to automate the execution of commands to the "Manager" web application.
But if the Manager Web application doesn't work how may I try to use Ant build tool I read about?

Thanks Menen

The manager webapp doesn't come bundled with Tomcat these days. You have to download and deploy it separately. And, of course, set up security credentials.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

Menen, Tomcat should have Manager App installed by default. Looks like someone did something with your particular Tomcat installation.

Tim, did you mean Tomcat Administration Web Application?

Are you able to see the manager application via a web browser ??

Here you can see how to set-up your ANT with Tomcat's manager tasks: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/manager-howto.html#Executing_Manager_Commands_With_Ant

Yeah, the link /manager is not correct - it should have been /manager/html (a bug in the manager app ??)

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
