I can suggest you how to analyze if something is not your interest.

Steve Jobs said that if you ask yourself whether you like what you are doing
& the answer is no for too many consecutive days, it is not your interest to pursue to what you are doing.

If this applies to you & just how many is "many" is upto you.

I want to do something else but I can not leave s/w development right away as this job is the only source of income for me.

I agree with you Vikas,

But if you are going to divert your stream then start thinking about it, give it some thought.

I am lucky to be in software development, I have loved it since school days.

If you see a piece of code working & that doesn't give you any joy, it would help to think what you else can you do.

People do diversify within software, like sales & project management or training.

Take your time & decide. All the best.

Yeah, I've heard it's dangerous. Never drive while you google!
