Array : What object does String[] refer to - From the java specs it is an Array object.

When I am calling clone() method of the object arr what gets called? .
If you say that Array’s clone gets called - then we do not have Array as a class having clone definition? So where do I check the implementation of clone method called on any array in java? . I would like to see the source code of the clone that is called for all array objects in java.
