Hi I'm trying to run a jar file (exported using java 1.5) on a mac,

Using java tester it says I have java 1.5

But in the console I have:

Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 (Build 8S165)

[JavaAppLauncher Warning] Specifying a specific version for com.apple.mrj.application.JVMVersion 1.3.1 is deprecated. Use the more general 1.3* instead.

Which appears to be saying that its java 1.3 installed.
So I'm a bit confused whats going on, and how I could update to java 1.5 or 1.6, cause sun/oracle is separate from mac when it comes to java.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Use the Java control panel to determine which JVM should be used by default. It's likely you have at least up to 1.5 installed already.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
