Are you talking about something like a labor union? That works great when work is a unit of labor that can be performed by many different people, like one may find on an assembly line. It is not so great when the work is not defined by discrete pieces or actions and requires a mastery of many technologies and a large amount of domain knowledge.
As for union workers being "uneducated", next time you need your toilet fixed, mention to the plumber that it's great he has a union looking out for him because he's uneducated. And keep a bucket handy.

My only purpose to point labor union and people who are not educated to show their unity which don't need any education. They not only fight with their own rights but they also stand for others.
In out indutry I don't want to see the same politics happen in other union or community my point is to atleast fight for the basics. If we compare we're the same as everyone who works on the ground level to full fill others dream. So for this ground level person companies has to show some responsibility.
We can't wait until it's our turn...Alone ican SAY..but together we can shout...
Seems like I come with some speech or something

hey Lester...It will be my privilege to know something from you not from GOOGLE... I think a person can give me more clear and interesting information than a search engine..and my sole intention to join javaranch is this only..
Hope you take this into right spirit..

It's not a privilege to be asked questions like "what is A?" when a web search can answer that easily. It says something like "I can't be bothered to do even basic research about the questions I ask, so instead of spending 30 seconds of my time with Google, I'd rather have someone else spend a minute of their time to explain it to me". It's not particularly nice, and not how this site (or any other I'm familiar with) operates.
ACM, the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.
Not the one I am talking about

i guess Kaustubh is not looking for communties like IEEE and ACM. with the term "community" i guess he is referring to something which protects the rights of software engineers...something like minimum pay...fight against exploitation
Reminds me of another post here along the same lines. It just does not make sense to enforce a rule of any sort or have a union.

That sums up my thoughts nicely. The assembly line juxtaposing is the same argument that I would make.

Well may be you think like that but in real world it is important to have community like...here people only understand when they face the problem thereself only..

There seems to be no such thing as 'social' in IT industry. All that there is 'MONEY'. MPs of India are able to get their salaries tripled. Public sector companies are fighting and are able to get second pension option. There is no such possibility here. Everyone is alone. You want money, stay here and put up with issues alone with management or move out to some other firm. I feel not everyone is good enough for being a software engineer. But for money every body come to this field. This field is more like a whirlpool. You can come in, going out is very difficult.
well here I don't agree with you..I saw many who came in this field because of thier interest and passion. Well you can say that in our country we've more jobs and good exposure in IT, other parts not having so much that's why a engineer from other stream also jump into IT.
Better if we grow in all not a perticular thing, well that's a different story...... the main aim of this thread is to awaking the software engineers so that they know their values and importance. Work in every level and atleast get what they deserve.
I know in other field is hard to servive and IT giving more to an indivisual but this type of growth is useless. You better do thing first which you want to do after getting money from IT ..
Is it really so hard to use punctuation? Sentences of more than 100 words are just about impossible to comprehend (if one is even willing to try).
hope this makes you happy Lester

vijin wrote its a reality ...but normally private companies wont allow that type of activities ..
may be government(in INDIA) have to look into the matter and discus with the companies .....
dont let the flame down .... keep it up...
Thanks Vijin for showing support but I think we better start something by ourself. Government will not take interest on this, better to fight our own battle and need you also in it.
