C:\>echo %JAVA_HOME% C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_06; C:\>cd %JAVA_HOME% The system cannot find the path specified.
How is this possible ?.
And even when I try to run a program which needs JAVA_HOME (eg.
Tomcat
) it says "JAVA_HOME" variable is not specified.
I know its actually not a
Java
problem, but I dont know where to start looking for solution. Please help.

There is a semi-colon
;
in your setting that should not be there.
Remove the semi-colon, close / re-open the command prompt window and it should work.
It should be set to:
C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_06
Not:
C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_06
;
