Feature request: Page navigation for long threads

For threads that generate tons of follow-ups, the thread is split into several pages. The page navigation feature "1, 2, 3, ... > Go" is at the top of the page. Request that this be provided in the bottom of the page (also).

Also (and I realise what I am about to ask here is anything but trivial) -- is it possible for the site to remember which post I saw last (esp in long threads) in my previous visit? Am guessing other functionality (e.g., the alert feature that notifies a new post since my last visit) has some overlap with what I ask.
