Long story short, we ran across an Oracle DB so badly designed, it probably had every anti pattern from the book. No indexes, using Number(32) to store a single digit, etc. When we tried to give him a few tips, he pulled the "that's for internal use only, you weren't supposed to see those details " card and refused to change anything.
I'm wondering if it'd be appropriate to give a copy of this book to the guy point blank, or maybe leave it at his desk Secret Sabta style. What say you? ;)
