Connection Pooling with Struts

I am a bit confused with this. Is Struts controller supporting connection pooling (thru dbcp)? Is this the same as the connection pooling facilities of tomcat? If I configured <data-sources> in struts-config.xml, does that mean I have connection pooling for my Action class already? Do I need to touch any connection pooling configuration of tomcat?

Thx for any advice.

Hi

Struts as such doesnt provide any connection pooling ............u should have ur pooling class or use some third party tool like apache pooling utility

Thx.

So what is happening behind the scene when I insert the <data-sources> tag in struts-config.xml?
e.g.
<data-sources>
<data-source type="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource">
<set-property property="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"/>
<set-property property="url" value=".."/>
...
<data-source>
<data-sources>
