why java is called as middleware?

It isn't, always. It depends on if it's being used as middleware or not. Middleware is searchable.

can you give me the real time example on middleware..

What David intended to express is: If you search for the term "middleware" using your favorite search engine, you should find plenty of material about what it is, how it's being used, and examples of that usage. You could also use both terms -"middleware" and "java"- in the same search query.

I would not say java is CALLED as middleware but certainly it is KNOWN for Middleware

Java got HUGE success with it's Enterprise Specification which are mainly server side middleware component spec...
