Mrutunjaya, generally 2-3 months time is enough for SCJP preparation. The actual time depends upon your current level knowledge. Go through ScjpFaq to get more tips on SCJP...

Hi,
Get a good book like K&B exam guide. Go through it 2-3 times. Clear your concepts, deal with the exercises
and do a lot of exam simulators like Enthuware, EXAMLAB is the must. Solve as many mocks as you can and
be a hard core rancher. You will be good to go. In addition, it really depends how proficient you are in Java.
Hope this helps,

Welcome to JavaRanch..
It totaly depends about your dedication, that how much time you require for that,
But if you are totally dedicated to the scjp then 2-3 months is more then enough, and also as you are having a knowledge of java,j2ee then i think it may require for you 1 or 2 months for clearing scjp
