Hi All,
Can anybody let me know that what is W3C standard about browser's status bar (IE7/8 and Firefox 3.x)? Can I display the any message I want?
Where I can get these standards?

Thanks,
Shail

There is no standard about that. Users don't pay much (if any) attention to it, though, and some browsers (like Firefox and Safari) allow it to be hidden altogether, so you're better off not displaying anything important there.

Dicking around with the status bar kind of went out of vogue in 1999.
