I am using default theme (xhtml).
<s:form action="Action1"> <s:textarea label="a" name="a"/> <s:textarea label="b" name="b"/> <s:submit value="s1"/> <s:submit value="s2"/> </s:form>
generates always a table, so that each submit button is in another line. How can i change it?(simple theme cannot be used)

Why can't you use the simple theme just for the submit buttons?!
The other option is to start mucking around with a custom theme.
It is sorta covered in the
JavaRanch Style Guide
subject: generating table from s:form
editing cells in table - not working
Struts2 ajax theme - One form, two buttons.. two actions?
action called twice in IE 8 when using different ajax submit for the same form
problem with struts2...
ajax tags doesn't work properly with xhtml theme
