Exception in ClassFormatError: Absent Code attribute

I was just reading book from apress, Beginning Hibernate 2nd edition, i tried the hello world example using mysql database, but it throws an exception. Here is the code

im using netbeans anyway..





and here is the configuration file



then this exception appear


please any help would be appreciated...

Can you make sure you have proper versions of the following jars in classpath

validation-api
hibernate-validator
