At work this morning, I was in the kitchen getting some coffee. I had just taken a large bite of my breakfast when someone walked in and said "Hi". Now, it would be rude to not say "Hi" back to her. However, it is also rude to talk with food in your mouth.
My brain froze for a moment, as I didn't know what to do.
I eventually put my hand in front of my mouth, and mumbled something barely intelligible. Was that the right thing to do? Should I have paused another 4-5 seconds, hastily chewed and swallowed the bagel first and THEN say hello?
So this may not be the most interesting topic, but that is why it's called 'Meaningless drivel'.
Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
