Problem with adding a view to a perspective

Hey,
I am working on a plug-in project that I did't created, but that I should extend.
I should create a view that essentially is the copy of another, but with some modifications.
So I've created a new class with another name, copied and modified the code and would like that now this new view will appear.

But when I export the project and run the exe I only get a gray tab where the view should be.

I added an entry of the new class in the plugin.xml and the perspective for the new folder layout-view and registered it how the other views were also.
Of couse it has a new ID.

What did I wrong? What step is missing? Or what do you need to help me?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
