Suggestion Box help

I have requirement like

I have list of states,city and area,
I have to give suggestion for states then on select of states i have to give suggestion for city( only thos city comes is suggestion which belong to selected state )
and the same for area.
I am using rich:suggestion box


But i am getting value of variable state as null not the selected value in suggest function
please help me

Try using

in your rich:suggestionbox. This would let the servlet know which value to be retrieved when the autocomplete method is called.

The selection defaults to the first column. I only see one column, so that value should be set into the input field. If you have more than one column, than yes, do what Sridhar suggested, use fetchValue attribute.
