I am seeking a Java coach to help me prepare for (and hopefully ace) the SCJP exam, and to help me to prepare for tech interviews in mid-October (I am hoping to push the deadline back to later in the month). I have already been doing self-study for approximately 2.5 months (yes, this is a very tight deadline), but need guidance and coaching from someone with real-world current experience. I am being realistic, so I would only be looking for opportunities as a Junior Developer.

I have a programming background in COBOL. I mention this only to make the point that I already have some experience in the field, not to make any inference that the languages are similar. Since my deadline is looming quickly, I need someone who could work with me to intensively cover the remaining material and really coach me.

Please provide information as to your credentials and some detail on how you would teach.
Rate TBD based upon our discussion.

Thankyou and Kind Regards,
Eva

Don't waste time trying to find an online coach or tutor if you're want to sit for the exam in the next month. Personally, I think that is a little unrealistic of you have no real world Java experience. You may be able to pass the exam, but will you really learn anything you can apply.
If you decide to move forward, just pick up a copy of the Sierra/Bates book and browse the SCJP forums here at the ranch.
