If the Super class provides a constructor that throws a checked exception, then the sub classes must define an explicit constructor that also throws the same exception or one of its super types.

What about the cases for Unchecked exception?

Hi Rohit,

To check whether the rule is valid for Unchecked Exceptions, write a class Base as follows:


Remember the hierarchy RuntimeException <-- IllegalArgumentException <-- IllegalThreadStateException

Then you can compile and run four Derived classes with different throws in Constructor to see which one gives compile time error:








I hope compiling and running these files will give you the answer.
