The first is related to array overrun in C, hence not understood by Java devs
In the second, the infinite geometric series 1 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 ... is equal to 2 (related to Zeno's paradox)

That string collected lot of garbage on its way to the bar. Thats what coke and rum can do to young Strings, not null terminated.
