Why not put your trigger code in a stored procedure and explicitly call that? Then, just have your trigger call the stored procedure.

I don't really see that anything could be more explicit than Scott's response.

  • You can call a stored procedure
  • The trigger can call a stored procedure


  • Still don't get it?

    isn't the point of a trigger in that it gets triggered by an event on the database, so why do you want to call it?
