I'm developing an Swing application which tends to convert any given word document to pdf file. Please guide me to do this.

The Apache POI library can read DOC files, and the iText library can create PDF files.

If having OpenOffice installed is an option, then the JODConverter library would make life much easier.

The conversion engine is not Swing related so I'm moving this thread to Java in General. But I think most people will recommend using OpenOffice.org (or whatever it's called now) in API mode.

Edit: see, Lester already did so
