Hi

I'm developing a application which fetches data to edit and inserts back into database..

i have created a generic class(Execute.java) which handles all database processes. every database request goes through it.

ex: if i'm finding somthing from findPanel, all the criteria wraped into command object and passed it to executeCommand method in Execute class.

now i'm trying to display a gif image in my application when process enters "executeCommand" method and disable it when process completes.

but i'm unable to do it.....
please suggest me a way to do it.........

what's the problem?

showing the .gif, or getting rid of it?

you seem to have a history of ignoring requests for specific info

Hi

the .gif should display only when database process is running, but at this point GUI was inactive so .gif was not displaying

the 'database process' needs to be done via a separate thread.

Thanks for your reply. Your problem may be due to your calling your database code on the Swing thread, the EDT. Please read the tutorial Concurrency in Swing.

Edit: as Michael states above my post! Note that this is only a guess since we haven't seen any code.
