Capturing user name entered as part of Basic authentication using Java code

Hello,

I have a web service that I am securing using Basic authentication by configuring the security params in my web.xml. I'm running on JBoss, so the security realm is also configured using a JBoss login module within the login-config.xml.

My question: When the user enters her user name on the pop up when trying to access my service, how do I capture this information? Is it possible to do so using Java code? If so how?

Thanks, appreciate any help on this.
